Esso Venezia

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Captain Giampaolo Mattera for his generosity in sharing an incredible collection of photographs of the Esso Venezia. His invaluable assistance in identifying several individuals captured in the onboard images, along with the cherished memories and anecdotes he shared from his time aboard, have truly meant a lot to me.

The Turbine Tanker Esso Venezia, with the call sign IBEV, was constructed in 1955 at the renowned Cantieri Navali Riuniti in Ancona (yard no. 237). Deadweight tonnage was 21,710. Originally built for La Columbia (Esso Italiana), this vessel was decommissioned and scrapped in 1976 in Gandia.
