The Electro Turbine T-2 Tanker Esso Sao Paulo, with the call sign HPEC, was constructed in 1944 at the Sun Shipping & Drydock in Chester PA, (yard no. 409), as Whitehorse. Original DWT  15878. In 1954 8 vertical pressurized tanks were inserted in the main tanks to enable transportation of LPG. At the same time she was lengthened by almost 30 meters and the DWT increased to 1613. Originally built for the US War Administration and sold in 1947 to Esso Panama Transport, this vessel was decommissioned and scrapped in 1967 in Kaohsiung.

Nel 1954 furono inseriti 8 serbatoi verticali pressurizzati nei serbatoi principali per consentire il trasporto del GPL. Allo stesso tempo è stata allungata di quasi 30 metri e la DWT è aumentata a 1613. Originariamente costruita per US War Administration degli Stati Uniti e venduta nel 1947 alla Esso Panama Transport, questa nave fu dismessa e demolita nel 1967 a Kaohsiung.
